Robert Fairburn Architectural Collection

Robert Fairburn (1921-2013) served as an officer in the United States Army Air Corps before graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Architectural Engineering and Physics. Later, he attended Cranbrook Academy of Arts and received a Masters in City Planning. In 1951, he became a partner of Flatow, Moore, Bryan and Fairburn. When he moved to Phoenix in 1962, he started the Fairburn Organization and designed many commercial projects, including the Camelback Inn and Metrocenter. The collection includes architectural drawings for these jobs and others, as well as publications, photographs, and presentation boards. Please note archivists will need 10 days notice before a scheduled viewing of unprocessed collections.
